Congratulations! You’ve been nominated for the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s “Tech 50” awards.

This award is a great achievement. Now, the question is: How do you capitalize on this success?

Achievements such as this are a great way to present your brand to a wider audience. They give your product or service credibility. But, you still need to merchandise your business to develop it and present it in the best possible way, including marketing strategies. There are a number of different strategies to take to do this.

“Achievements … are a great way to present your brand to a wider audience. They give your product or service credibility. ”

Social Media: One easy marketing strategy is social media, which has a lot of benefits. You control whatever content you put out, you can post different types of content, and you have the opportunity to reach a large audience. But, there are a lot of ways that you can take social media to the next level rather than writing 140 characters on Twitter, some of which are posting photos or videos or interacting with your customers. Even though social media is a great and cost-effective way to reach a large audience, make sure that you aren’t “blindly posting” and that your posts are still strategic and targeted.

News Release: News releases are another way to merchandise your business. They allow you to share information about your company that can make it to multiple sources for distribution, and they’re relatively easy to compose. But,news releases still need to be crafted strategically in order to be picked up by a news source. The information needs to be crafted in a way that attracts the attention of editors and reporters so they can pull the information easily.

Advertise: An advertisement is really one of the best ways to get your story in front of your audience. For one, it’s paid media, allowing you to distribute it through whichever channels you’d like. There are also a number of different places to put an ad. With print ads, you can go from social media to magazines to posters to billboards. Another form of advertising, videos, allows multiple uses, from social media to YouTube to television. The possibilities are endless, and working with an agency ensures that your message is creatively and strategically placed.

Merchandising your business requires investments such as developing relationships within your industry media and with your target audience, investing time in the story you’re trying to tell, and investing time into your goal. After all, you and your team have been nominated for a great honor; now it’s time to tell the story and reap the benefits of all your hard work.
