Community Development Corporation of Butler Drives Economic Development Across the County

In 1959, Butler County business owners founded the Community Development Corporation of Butler, commonly known at the CDC, to focus on economic development throughout the entire county.  The organization’s official mission is to proactively create an environment for private industry to bring about and retain jobs through coordination with local business leaders and elected officials. The CDC is comprised of a 34-member board with representatives from area manufacturers, financial institutions, utilities and government officials. Since 1999 the CDC has developed more than 500 acres of business parks and created 6,300 jobs in Butler County. Currently the CDC owns two business parks; the Victory Road Business Park located in Clinton Township and the Pullman Center Business Park Expansion, which is located in the City of Butler and Butler Township. The Pullman Center Business Park Expansion will be the site of Allegheny Health Network’s AHN Cancer Institute. The groundbreaking for the 34,000-square-foot facility took place in April and is expected to open in early 2019. Once completed, the facility will employ approximately 20 health care professionals and provide state-of-the-art radiation oncology, medical oncology social services and access to clinical trials for area cancer patients. The Pullman Center Business Park Expansion houses a variety of offices, including the PA CareerLink, PA CareerTrack, as well as Phillips Family Chiropractic and Wigton Eye Care. There are several parcels available for sale at the business park, which is located on a bus line and convenient to a variety of retail stores and restaurants. The Victory Road Business Park is home to more than 20 businesses, including Aldi, Inc., Bayer Healthcare and Brayman Construction. The business park generates more than $1,000,000 in taxes for Butler County, Clinton Township and the South Butler School District. Just 60 acres remain available for sale at the park. The CDC also oversees a variety of loan programs for manufacturers in Butler County. The loan programs offer competitive rates and are tied to job creation.
