SDLC Partners Hosting Hackathon for Regional College and University Students

Inaugural event offers $2,000 First Place Prize Plus Other Team Prizes

Registration is now open for SDLC Partners’ first Hackathon event, slated for September 22-23, 2018 at their Solution Center in PPG One, downtown Pittsburgh. The event is geared towards area undergraduate and graduate students across numerous programs of study, including computer science, product design, and human centered design to name a few. Guest judges will include executives from top firms in the region, including the Pittsburgh Technology Council and HM Health Solutions, among others. “We’ve been very engaged in sponsoring and supporting numerous programs and STEM events across the region. These have been geared toward exposing youth, middle and high schoolers, as well as secondary education students to opportunities in STEM related careers. We are very excited to host our first Hackathon,” said Chris Simchick, Co-founder and CEO, SDLC Partners. Scott Barnyak, co-founder and chief sales and marketing officer, agrees, “What better way to give young adults the opportunity to solve real-world technical, operational and business problems…and give us an opportunity to meet possible future team members?” Competitors will form teams and compete over one and a half days to create fully-fleshed use cases framed on advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Voice and Speech Recognition. Their goal is to achieve the First-Place team prize of $2,000. Students will have the opportunity to be advised and work with a variety of SDLC Partners’ employees from varied disciplines like software engineering, business analysis, project management, human centered design, and testing.
